Based on some habitat types evaluation as well as comparision of other countries lichen checklists, w
e tentatively estimate possible number of known living lichenized, lichenicolous and allied fungi in Iran as :

  •  
    Lichenized fungi: 1200-1500 Species
  •  Lichenicolous fungi: 200-450 Species
  •  Allied fungi: 20-40 Species
